NKBA Northern NJ Chapter Donates to The Salvation Army

After the horrific fires in California last year, the NKBA Northern NJ Chapter decided to turn the Annual Holiday Party in December into a fundraiser to help the thousand of displaced families. The Camp Fire was the deadliest and most destuctive Wildfire in California history, it covered an area of 153,336 acres  (almost 240 sq. miles), and destroyed 18,804 structures and took 85 lives.  On December 11, 2018, Cosentino in Fairfield hosted over 60 NKBANNJ members where $1700.00 was collected for the cause.  The Chapter matched the funds collected and submitted a check for $3500.00 to the Salvation Army dogeared for the Camp Fires.   The Salvation Army offers disaster assistance by providing food, water, and shelter to victims, lending a hand with cleanup, and putting people in touch with their loved ones. The Salvation Army also helps treat the emotional stress and trauma of disaster victims and first responders with emotional support and spiritual comfort. Whether it's lending a listening ear, offering a hug, joining together in prayer, or simply being present. The Salvation Army brings immediate help, continued hope, and long-term healing to disaster survivors and we are grateful that we could donate to such a worthy cause.
